Amazon launched its great summer sale today, May 1 2025. Like most consumers, I was curious to know what discounts I could get on some good brands. So, I decided to lurk around the Amazon.in site to browse.
At this point, I must inform any reader here that the Amazon links provided in this post contain affiliate links, which if you follow and end up purchasing anything from Amazon, then I would probably make some commission. So, let me just be clear about that.
Alright, with that out of the way, let’s dig for discounts!
So, the moment you enter the Amazon site, you’ll hit the Great Indian Summer Sale banner, and what do we see on it? Multiple mentions of Samsung.
Samung seems to be dominating the advertising scene on the site with huge discounts on its phones and other electronics.
On its phones, they seem to be doling out upto 60% discounts. Here’s a link to the Samsung Discounts Page if you want to check out the offers yourself.
But for me, the best offer I see is right up front, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 5G (12GB RAM + 256GB Storage) with a sweet discount. I mean if you are looking for a powerful smartphone then this beats most competition.
If older models work for you, then there seem to be even better discounts. Like this one: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G AI Smartphone (Titanium Gray, 12GB, 256GB Storage) is going for a much better deal than the new version. Well, for higher discounts, I don’t mind a minor compromise.
You can browse around this page on Amazon to check out further Samsung phone deals.
Apart from phones, Samsung has also given out huge discounts on its televisions. Check out the page here: https://amzn.to/3RMQjFz.
Samsung appliances also have some handsome deals on the page. So, if you are looking for a deal on Refrigerators, or air conditioners or washing machines and other electrical appliances, go check this page out –> https://amzn.to/4iNUWu1 before the offers end or items go out of stock.
Apart from Samsung, Tata seems to have gone all out on its Soulful brand of cereals.
Ever since they acquired this brand, Tata seems to have put its weight behind the distribution and marketing, which, to be honest, was quite miserable with its founders. I mean no offence, but the founder had a thing for innovation and put a lot of R&D into the project to bring it to life. But it would have died a painful death with the losses it was gathering, if it wasn’t for Tata acquiring it and breathing life into the marketing and distribution.
Anyway, I digress. So, the point of this post being the discounts Tata is giving on this brand. Please go and check it out on this link: https://amzn.to/44Pc9je
Among other FMCG Surf Excel seems to be bullish on the discounts as well. This is interesting for me and makes me curious. Do detergents sell a lot online in India? I wouldn’t know much about that coz I haven’t lived in India for the last 15 years, but if Unilever has given the Amazon Summer Sale so much prevalence, then maybe they have some good chunk of sale coming from this.
Or maybe it is because Unilever has decided to focus on modern trade and e-commerce with its premium and high margin products (or Tier 1 products as they call it). Unilever has been facing a lot of heat of late in emerging markets in the tier 2 and tier 3 category with cheaper local products giving it a run for its money.
Anyway, here’s the link to the Surf Excel offers in case you are interested –> https://amzn.to/3RHhB07
Alright, now one of the most interesting discoveries for me in this treasure hunt was the EV deals. Yes, that’s electric vehicle deals: electric scooters to be precise. Amazon is offering discounts on Vida Electric Scooters. That’s a brand by Hero Motorcorp. Here’s their store page link: https://amzn.to/4jXuqiP
Now, Hero apparently has been known to out on a limb giving discounts on it Electric scooters. How good they are, I don’t know, but if you are into such stuff, better make the most of the deals. Do your due diligence and make your purchase while the offers are still out there. Here’s a link to a review on Team-BHP.
So, there, that’s the list of some good brands with mouthwatering discounts on the Great Summer Sale by Amazon. In the next few days, I will still be browsing their pages to see if anything else interesting enough drops. With the economy looking shabby around the world any discount savings is going to be a boon for my pocket.
