Social media are forms of e-communication platforms through which users create personal and professional profiles, interact with online communities, communicate socially with the online network publicly or with a private network and share information and other contents.  

There are many social media tools. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin and Reddit are some of the leading platforms (outside China).
